Life is never still. It shifts, tilts, and rearranges—sometimes by choice, sometimes by necessity. My 2025 Balancing Act series reflects the delicate equilibrium between chaos and harmony, and how we continuously redefine space for ourselves within it.
This collection contrasts steady and unsteady forms, capturing movement mid-shift. Some shapes feel grounded, others teeter or reach for stability. Cracks and imperfections whisper of something lived, something real. These textures give each piece character—proof that beauty lies not in perfection, but in persistence.
As I painted, I found myself reflecting on balance in motherhood, in marriage, in being a business owner—on the endless reshuffling of priorities, the quiet negotiations between self-care and obligation. The pieces mirror this process, embracing the idea that balance is not a fixed point, but a constant act of recalibration. Some forms were inspired by my three-year-old daughter’s current obsession, the stickers-by-number books—shapes find their way together, imperfectly yet intentionally, under her small hands.
Balancing Act invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and see beauty in the ever-shifting nature of life. Balance isn’t about stillness—it’s about learning to move with the rhythm of change.
